Baldwin Methodist College
The Hangout: Fanoos, the most popular landmark around Johnson Market, on Hosur Road.
The location: A few meters away from the college
Rush Hour: Lunch breaks and after college hours
What’s to love: Anybody who has tasted the sheek rolls or the delectable kebabs from here will vouch that there cannot be a better place to hangout than at Fanoos.
So primarily, it is for the food that the students come here.
Apart from offering a variety of items (chicken, Indian breads, vegetarian specialties and tandoor), Fanoos is meant for the student in terms of value for money.
“You could actually get a plate of delicious kebabs for the same amount as you would spend as minimum auto fare in the city!” quips one of the youngsters.
Also, there are two juice stalls near Fanoosthat make this particular spot a favourite joint for students of this college.
“You can never go to Fanoos and not eat” is what these students say.
Theylike hanging around the place to chat the lunch hour away.
Also, since many of the students live around this area, there is a good chance of bumping into old pals Another student says, “For those who are crazy about cars, standing around Fanoos is the ideal thing to do because every now and then, the best and the most uncommon cars whizz past.”
What’s not to: There’s no arrangement for seating at Fanoos.
The place is mostly about grabbing a quick lunch.
Also, it gets very crowded so when the students don’t have too much time on hand, they’d rather hangout somewhere in college.
Alternative: Good ole’ Fatima Bakery bang opposite Fanoos.
