Over 900 children displayed their artistic talents at the city-round finals of the International Art and Craft Contest (IACC ’07) organised here at St. Charles High School recently. While children (Std. II to X) were busy at work, the art and craft teachers showed their skills to the large gathering of parents.

Speaking at the inaugural function, artist S G Vasudev, opined that platforms have to be provided for children to explore and express their ideas freely. Madhu Nair, Regional Sales Manager, Pidilite Industries, the organisers of the event said that the contest intends to serve as a platform to encourage, nurture and showcase young creative talent. The finalists from this city round would be going into the zonal finals followed by mega finals, which will be held in Mumbai.
The winners of the mega final in each category will be declared as the international Craft Champion of the Year and international Art Champion of the Year and will receive exciting prizes from Pidilite and also scholarship of Rs. 50,000 from HDFC Standard Life.
